Honcho Summer Campout is one of the most revered queer music festivals in the world. Spanning five days in mid-August annually, the intimate celebration is dedicated to big sound systems in the woods and showcasing the LGBTQ+ artists pushing the American dance music underground forward. 2019's edition was August 15-20, and I attended for the first time to DJ and serve as co-director of the Queer Fam Fund, a fundraising effort that extended cost-free travel, accomodations, and an intentional safe space to those who need it most: namely intersectional queer people.
